It was argued convincingly by [[random people on Discord|GTech™ consultants]] that the [[Meme Search Engine/Searching Memes|existing UI]] was "[fine] for power users and autists" but was otherwise "deranged", presumably due to its extremely dense layout, general lack of labelling, slightly unintuitive behaviour and large quantity of options. On the basis that the design should "[cater] to people who are on cell phones and very close to illiterate", a new default UI was designed and implemented with one input and one button, and more whitespace. The original UI is available via a slightly hidden "+" button in the corner.
